I’m sick right now and there is nothing worse than having to get out of bed and try and operate a FUCKING PRINTER, and get it to do simple things for you so you can just get on with your day or go back to bed.

APPLE, I don’t need a new phone from you, a new tablet, wireless headphones, a watch, a machine to scratch my nuts for when I just can’t be bothered or even a new car! I just want you guys to use all your might to design and produce a printer that FUCKING WORKS!

Why, WHY,,, do printers still operate as if they were desinged in 1989 and haven’t progressed forward. Seriously, the menus and useability is no different from when I used old dot matrix printers when in grade school!

I FUCKING HATE PRINTERS!

Ive mastered the black art of getting printers to work in my recent bout of office work. Unfortunately it involves a lot of manual labour and regular paper and printhead unjamming. I assume they dont make them better like other tech because people dont buy a printer because they want it, its because they need it, so the money just isnt there. Plus many are trying to move towards dropping hard copies and using ipads and what not.

I think printer used to be better than they are now, at least when talking about laser printers. The old LaserJet IIIsi would never jam and was built like a tank. It was fucking huge, slow and unbelievably heavy. It was also really, really expensive. Now they are cheaper, faster, and lighter but need a lot more maintenance and fail more often.

For me, it’s not so much a problem with the printer, it’s always the drivers and getting everyone configured properly to print. I finally set up a Raspberry Pi as a print server at home. It eliminated all the XP/Win7/Win8/Win10 issues, but it is still a bit tricky getting all of the devices to see the web address, but once they do, there aren’t any other issues.

The plotter at work is a completely different issue. I’d like to strangle the guy responsible for managing that one.

Get a Brother wireless laser. I got an HL-2170W about 8 years ago, plugged it into the wall, connected it with USB to a PC one time, used their software to tell it my network name and password, and it has done nothing by live in a cabinet under my TV and print flawlessly from my PC’s and laptops over WiFi ever since.

I have a Brother MFC-J615W that also scans, copies, and faxes. Its operation is easy and painless and it was $70 new.

Amazon now sells them for $470. That is how awesome it is. I have no idea how good its successor models are because this one has been so good that I’ve not even thought about researching a replacement.
